1. Principles of motivation related to supervision:
There are various principles given by many theorists that contribute to motivation of employees at work place, when looking at supervision motivation techniques, below are the two major principles that contribute to the performance effectiveness of the employees.
i). Needs theory and management:
Supervisor has the challenge of making his team or group to perform according to their job, a good supervisor is the one who structures and delegates the task according to their skill sets and requirements of the task, develops in reward system so that employees are motivated towards their work.
ii). Expectancy Theory:
Employees are quite well motivated when they believe that their contribution towards the work would full fill in the requirements of the role and contribute to the overall development of the organisation. Employees here perceive that effective performance leading to incentive structure or reward system.
2. Motivational Techniques:
Enhanced motivation at workplace helps the organisation to increase performance, morale and enables enhanced productivity. There are various techniques to keep employees motivated. They are as follows:
i). Setting targets for each employee that makes an individual create a career growth path for self-contributing to the organisation.
ii). Profit sharing incentive structure, this benefits both organisation and employee to raise in income levels.
iii). Recognising employee achievements in the group that builds in trust on self and keeps employees to work more for the organisation.
iv). Offering various rewards for enhancing performance from time to time.
3. Motivational techniques usage by supervisor:
i). Creating positive work environment so that every employee feels accountable and responsible for their task.
ii). Opinions and ideas of every employee must be considered so that they feel they are contributing to the organisation and encourages in thinking creatively in the organisation.
iii). Faster decision making process of ideas and opinions and implementation, this would help the employee work fast with efficiency.
iv). Sharing organisational values and framing employee friendly policies and programs that make the employee feel valuable and gets emotionally attached with the organisation.
