A Ted talks event had a speaker who chose the method of delivery as "extemporaneous ".

Extemporaneous is a method where the speaker is given the topic in advance and he prepares it and then memorizes it.

The reason why speaker chose this method was the natural approach and the ease of connecting with the audience it allows. This approach bears food for thought and is best used when the topic is critical and it was.

Yes ,this method was effective due to the fact that it was the more natural approach among other methods of delivery. While maintaining eye contact and ensuring that public is engaged with questions ,the speaker ensures that the message was well recieved by the audience.
