A school psychologist is interested in whether time has changed the problem with student parking that has been discussed for a few years. As the student population has grown the psychologist fully suspects that the time to find parking has become worse rather than better for the student body. Over the past decade the average amount of time to find parking for students is 15 minutes (µ=15). The current sample’s information is as follows: M=19 minutes and a S= 6 minutes the sample size is 120 participants (n=120). Has parking become worse for current students when compared to students a few years ago. Please run the appropriate statistical test and interpret the findings. Alpha level =.05
A psychologist wants to find out if computer learning (distance learning) is a improvement on traditional learning (with a professor). The psychologist hypothesized that subjects would learn differently in the classroom with a teacher than at home on the computer. Subjects were obtained from an existing pool and split randomly into one of the two categories. Please perform the correct statistical test using an alpha level of .01 to find out if the psychologist’s hypothesis was supported.

What did you find? How could you make improvements on this design type? There could be a problem specifically with the subjects which would taint the results. What could be done to ensure the groups being looked at will start out more equivalent. Tell me what you would do and how you think this would alter the effect, if at all. Give some reasons/explanations of why you predicted what you predicted about the effective change.
A team of therapists are interested in seeing if a new therapy for drug addiction and specifically want to test their patients who did not respond well to methadone. After proper removal of the old treatment the new treatment is introduced it is called Addiction Power Therapy. This involves patients taking responsibilities for their own actions and power of their mind/body to “Kick the Habit”. This is a self report and the dependent measure was number of times they used their drug of choice that week. The following data were found in a small sample of 6 people.
Patient Before Treatment After treatment
A 6 2
B 6 2
C 5 3
D 7 2
E 10 0
F 9 1
Conclusion: There is evidence to conclude that parking has become worse for current students when compared to students a few years ago.
