Describe the concept of emotional intelligence
Historically we have been listening the concept of IQ (Intelligence Quotient) and this had been the characteristic or benchmark for the intellectual capability of the person. There used to be IQ test for many manager based on their score their role used to be decided. As the world progressed and business became more complex and the organizations strated to grow in size which was unprecedented there was need to manager more and more human resources. Then one of the important aspect originated was to manage the emotion in the business operation. Then the term emotional intelligence was coined by two researcher named Peter and John. Emotional intelligence is also synonymous with the Emotional quotient. Emotional intelligence is the capability of the person to manager his or her own emotions under different situtations as well as the capacity to manage the emotions of the others as well under different situation. Today the EQ or EI has become one of the most requried trait in the business leaders. In todayls complex and competitive business environemnt the leader or managers must posses good amount of emotional quotient in order to successfully mange the human resource delpyed int he busiss as well as while interacting with internal as well as external stakeholders.
