Pfizer is one of the leading biopharmaceutical companies in the world. They are the pioneers in HIV/AIDS related drugs. However, in order to maximize their profits, the company has priced the drugs quite expensively, such that the drugs are not affordable by the lower income group of the world. These people are the most susceptible to HIV/AIDS virus.

Keeping the profit objective in mind is legal, but completely ignoring the welfare of the society is ethically wrong and socially irresponsive. They could have offered the drugs to the poor at generic cost and could have opted for profits from the higher income level groups.
