Briefly describe the three different types of boundaryless organizations: barrier-free, modular, and virtual.

Boundary-less organization refers to the organization that breaks the chains of organizational structure. Technological industry implements the boundary-less organization.

These type of organization breaks the rigid lines of bureaucracy and divisions within a corporation. The management style is informal. The organization communicate through emails, phone and different virtual means. There is no geographical barriers and the communication system makes the organization productive and flexibility.

Employees of boundary-less organization work collaboratively as a team and meet the changing situations to meet the strong work culture. There are four types of boundary-less organization. They are: -

• Modular organization - refers to a business where largely independent bodies are rearranged and are worked with different departments as needed.
• Strategic alliance - refers to the strategic partnership where the agreement is made between two or more parties to meet the set goals and objectives while functioning as the independent organization
• Network organization - is a type of organization formed by creating alliance of several organization for developing product or service for the customers. This type of organization structure eliminate departments that are not necessary and outsource specialized works like logistic, technical support, etc.
• Virtual organization - Virtual organization is the organization where the teams are located at different geographic location and work together with the help of communication technology like video conference, voice conferencing, emails, etc. so that they can work collaboratively.

Boundaryless organization sometimes requires proper monitoring and control in order to keep the group focused and committed to the goal.
