Group diversity means the group consists of all types of people belonging to various races. In the group, group diversity suggests that all the members must be free from the racial prejudices. They are free from all types of personal belief. They all work on behalf of the group development and group activity. Group diversity also helps to enhance the harmony in the group and there is a kind of group culture where the group members exchange the best qualities of the culture.

There are different types of groups:

Natural and artificial group: Groups that are formed on the basis of the biological needs are natural groups. Such groups are age group, community group etc. On the other hand, artificial groups are formed on the basis of organizations and associations.

Co-acting and Interacting group: When many people work the same thing and form a group we call it Co-acting group. On the other hand, interacting groups consists of playgroup, discussion group etc.

Primary group: In the primary group, the group members have face to face direct relationship. Family is the most important primary group.

Secondary group: Members of the secondary group are not in direct face to face relations. There is indirect relation in the group members. Political party, trade organizations are the examples of the secondary group.

The group leadership needs the following characteristics:

  • The leaders must be friendly and familiar to the group members.
  • The leader should be a good orator.
  • He never provides wrong information.
  • He should have truthfulness, perseverance, wisdom, perception, boldness and so on.
  • He should not fear to accept challenge.
  • He must be always by the side of the members.
  • He must be impartial and free from all types of racism and prejudice.
