16. List and briefly describe the three different antigens discussed in class.

Answer- the three types of antigen are -

Exogenous antigen - antigens which enter the cells from an external surface , that is antigens which are acquired by contact with contaminated surfaces , aerosols, ingested from contaminated good etc . Fir example pollens are allergens and are inhaled.

Endogenous antigen - antigens produced in healthy cells due to a previous clinical or subclinical infection by a microbe as a part of cell metabolism.

Eg - virus enters cells and replicate the genome .

Auto antigen - a normal self cell that evokes an immune response. As in autoimmune response.
