Ageism is term used for discrimination done against individuals on basis of their age.

To curb ageism all generation should require understanding of ageing and its effects. It includes positive attitude towards senior citizens. Such as changing the outdated thought of thinking old citizens as burden on society. We should show positive attitude to them by taking their opinions in decisions and discussion. We should also respect their wide expierence of life .

We should encourage communication with them so that they won't feel depressed due to lonliness. We should make them actively involved in social gatherings.

Ageism has many effects on individual's physical health, mental health, social, congnitive health. Thus ageism also affects person professional life like he might lose hos job, is unable to do work and have to take leaves due to health.

Negative attitude towards elder people make their psychological health worst.
