What did you learn about nursing knowledge from Carper that you can apply to your practice?

Things that I learned about nursing knowledge from Carper that we can apply to our practice, includes the fact that according to Carper there are; four patterns of nursing knowledge: empirics, ethics, esthetics and personal knowledge. I can apply these patterns in my nursing, for example the ethics such as the principles of autonomy, justice, beneficence, and non-maleficence to resolve the medical ethical dilemmas such as the end of life care dilemma to withdraw or not withdraw the life support from a terminally ill patient. I will resolve this conflict based on the ethical principle of autonomy i.e. take informed consent from the patient and in case the patient is unconscious I will base by decision on advance directive.
