IMPORTANT STAKEHOLDERS IN HEALTH ORGANISATION

Heath care system are used to provide better health services to people which includes hospital, clinic , nursing home , special health programs in school , community , industry etc.

It works under socioeconomic and political framework of country .

Stakeholder -- they are difined as person , group , organisation or system who affects and in return can be affected by an organisational action .

Stakeholder may be internal ie employees and management and may be external eg customers , supplies etc.

Types of stakeholders are 1) internal stakeholders

2) interface stakeholders 3) external stakeholders .

1) EXTERNAL STAKEHOLDERS = it includes

  • Local authorities / council
  • Providers
  • Acute trust
  • Patients
  • Service users
  • Customer
  • Supplier
  • Funders
  • Quality checkers
  • Health visitor , school nurse

Media

A health care organizations must and always respond to large number of external stakeholders. They are categorised in 3 group according to relationship they have with large organizations

1. Those that provides input to organisation .

2. Those that compete with it .

3. Those that have special particular interest.

The relationship with external stakeholders are interdependent reletionship as organisation depends on them for its survival and management . Stakeholder depend on organisation for output . But if the relationship between two provide necessary input then it must be mutual one .

There are special interest group like government regulations agency , private accrediting association , labor unions ,media , political groups etc

2) INTERNAL STAKEHOLDERS = it includes

  • Director of public health
  • Head of health intelligence and information
  • Director of nursing
  • Public health strategist
  • Director of programs and services
  • Research scientist

Public health manager etc

These stakeholders are within the organisation like management , professional and non professional staff which work in organisationa over a period of time . Management intended to provide the internal stakeholders with sufficient inducement to gain continuous contribution from them .

Then these stakeholders determine whether the inducement is sufficient to work in competitive environment or they require more .

Some major stakeholders in heath care system are

A. Government

B . public

C. Providers like community health care provider and hospital heath care provider .

D. Various NGO s

E .Indian red cross society etc and various other programs .

MOTIVATION =. These stakeholders gain their motivation from the ' influence' and ' importance' in relation to objective they are seeking to achieve in heath care services and products .

Influence simply refers how powerful that stakeholders are in influencing the outcomes of project . And Importance simply refers to those stakeholders who problem ,needs are important priority for organisationa . If these important stakeholders doesn't work effectively then the project success become unsure ,thus they are important for organisation .

Example of influence are like legal command , authority of leadership etc

Their need and aspirations with regards to heath survises and products come from demand of society and importance of performance in their working area .

In India major stakeholders are .

1) Indian council for child welfare

2) tuberculosis association of India

3) kasturba memorial fund

4)all India blind relif society .

They have external and internal stakeholders working continuously for betterment of the society.
