There have been several famous tax evaders who have been mainly gangsters such as Al capone and who are in the prominent underworld or film stars who do not report accurate income statements. In the underworld, it is more serious as they don't earn money through legal means and there is often some unreported money which they have to keep, so that there are no questions raised as to how come they are earning so much money, based on the business they are doing officially.

Walter Anderson is one of the famous tax evaders who hid his earnings by transferring money in offshore bank accounts. After this he was found guilty of the conduct and jailed as per the terms and conditions and charged a hefty fine. Al Capone is the other famous tax evader who engaged in a lot of illegal activities, and he was charged as even income earned through illegal means is taxable. He was also jailed and had to face charges. Joe francis is another famous tax evader, who filed false corporate tax returns, wherein he gave false business expenses.

Thus there have several forms of tax evaders wherein the government has been able to tax and charge people who have hidden income through illegal ways and means. Their motives are often varied depending on whether they want more income saved for future unforeseen expenses or they want to earn a higher interest by transferring it offshore, or create a mechanism wherein they are not traced back for using illegal means of livelihood.
