ECPs contains same hormones of regular birth control pills which delay the ovualtion. The copper-bearing IUD prevents fertilization by inducing chemical change in sperm and egg before fertilization and it is most effective one.EC cannot induce abortion and it is no longer effcetive once implantation has occurred. Some common ECP commercials are ulipristal acetate, levonorgestrel, or combined oral contraceptives (COCs) consisting of ethinyl estradiol plus levonorgestrel.
