Design of Detention Basin
Many of the design elements in a retention basin are identical to those of a dry extended detention basin. These elements include estimation of flood control storage volumes, design of a multi-stage riser, storage indication (reservoir) routing, emergency spillway design, riser buoyancy calculations, and the design of sediment forebays.
