Think about the process of endospore formation, and how it aids in the function of an endospore. Based on this information, which step in endospore formation is most critical/necessary and why?
The most important step of endospore formation is that stage in which the DNA gets replicated and a membrane wall is formed between DNA and rest of the cell. The plasma membrane of cell surrounds the membrane wall and made double membrane around the DNA. and is known as forespore.
This stage is necessary because without formation of forespore the stabilization of protein and DNA doesnot occur in the endospore, as forespore is made up of dipicolinic acid which helps it to gets stabilized and then peptidoglycan cortex is formed surrounded to the forespore. After that endospore is dehydrated and matured to get separated from parent cell.
