If a eukaryotic cell had a Kozak sequence of ACCACCAUGG and an anti-sense RNA is blocking translation, what part of the anti-sense sequence can you predict, from 5`to 3`?
Kozak sequence is the site of initiation of translation in eukaryotes. Usually the nornal mRna is in the polarity of 5'-3'. So the kozak sequence is in this polarity. Now Anti sense strand of mRna means, the complementary Rna strand having nucleotides complementary to the first strand so that they can bind together to form a duplex which inhibits translation.
So mrna 5'- ACCACCAUGG-3'
Antisense Rna- 3'- UGGUGGUACC-5'.
So the part of antisense strand that can be predicted from 5'-3' is CCAUGGUGGU.
