Answer 2. Vitamins are required for the proper growth of the human beings. They can be fat soluble or water soluble. Vitamin B and C are water soluble. Rest all are fat soluble.Vitamin K is an essential vitamin required by our body for the blood clotting along with binding of calcium to the bones. Thus, its deficiency is associated with osteoporosis too. It occurs in 2 forms, namely - Vitamin K1 which is obtained from the plants and vitamin K2 which is obtained from the animals.

Answer 3. The rich plant sources for this vitamin are kale, spinach, lettuce, broccoli, cauliflower, asparagus etc.

The daily requirement of Vitamin K for an adult men is 135 mcg while for female it is 120 mcg.
