What is one possible challenge for replication in linear DNA and how can this be resolved in a cell?
End replication(as RNA primer are removed and persistent gap remain which can't be filled by DNA polymerase ) is chalenge in linear DNA replication due to which ends of chromosomes get shorter in every cell cycle and essential gene lost in this process.
This problem is solved by telomerase enzyme which initiate process of end replication of telomere end.
Telomerase is protein+RNA molecule. RNA molecule act as primer and extend 3' of DNA.
It form DNA on this RNA as telomerase is RNA dependent DNA polymerase.
