it is a enzyme which synthesis the DNA from deoxyribonucleotides and usually play important role inn DNA replication and thus helps in the formation of two identical copies of the DNA. during this process DNA reads the existing nucleotide and insert the new nucleotide into the newlyy form strand with the utilisation of energy.but due to some readons the function of DNA is quite not perfect wich can result mistaching of the base pairs (note: not all the DNA polymerase can correct the mismatch) presennt in DNA. which results in mutation which needs to be corrected and done by the hhelp of 3'-5' exonuclease activity which is also nown as proofreas=ding mainly present in DNA pol. I and III.
