Epinephrine or adrenaline is an emergency hormone secreted in coordination with sympathetic nervous system by the adrenal medulla. This hormone is also called fear, flight, fight hormone. In addition to epinephrine adrenal medulla also releases nor-epinephrine. These hormones increase the rate and strength of the heartbeat, increase blood pressure and increase the rate of oxygen flow through the respiratory system.

1. It stimulates glycolysis by increasing fructose-2,6-bisphosphate concentration which further helps in glycolysis.
2. It stimulates fat mobilization in adipose.
3. It increases glucagon secretion and prevents insulin release.
