CVS ACTIVITY: Increases the celiac artery flow. However the duration of this phase is very less.

GASTRIC PHASE: ACTIVITY: Ingested food and drink causing stomach extension.

EFFECT: Stomach extension triggers mechanical receptors.

CVS ACTIVITY: increases the celiac artery flow.

DURATION: While ingesting and 15to30 minutes after ingestion.

INTESTINAL PHASE: ACTIVITY: Gastric emptying moves chyme into rhe duodenum.

EFFECT: Duodenal chyme elicits regulatory peptides.

CVS ACTIVITY: Increased superior mesentric artery flowm

DIRATION: typically 2 to 6 hrs, depending on the meal size.
