What effect would left ventricular failure have on capillary filtration in the kidneys?
Due to left ventricular heart failure, the cardiac output will decrease. Decrease in cardiac output will lead decrease in glomerulus filtration rate because less blood will available for filtration. This in turn will accumulate the toxins in body because GFR is low and blood is not getting filtered properly.
Also, since heart is not pumping efficiently, the kidneys will get less oxygen and could lead to their necrosis and even failure if not treated.
There would also be renal congestion because of pressure build in blood vessels due to heart failure.
Thus, left ventricular failure can cause severe kidney damage in many ways.
