What will happen to the divorce rate if we make it harder to get married?

Answer #1

The current divorce rate is more than 50% across the world. This is a matter of concern and it is very important to address the issues. In my opinion making it harder to get married may have little impact on the divorce rates. There are several other issues that result in the increasing number of divorces like unmet expectations, different priorities , unable to resolve conflicts, lack of patience to sustain a relationship, boredom etc. Lack of available options or difficulty getting married can have an impact but one cannot surely say until proper research has been done in this area.
