The Helath belief model consists of six factors, which are the
following:
- Perceived Susceptibility - It is ones own perception about much
one is susceptible towards acquiring a condition.
- Perceived Severity - The belief about the severety of ones
condition and what it could lead to.
- Perceived Benefits - The belief of how one could avoid or
prevent the condiion or reduce it.
- Percieved Barriers - The beliefs which are preventing the
person from protecting oneself from the condition.
- Cues to Action - Measures to take action.
- Self-Efficacy - Being confident about ones ability to take
action.
