Do you think empathy is important in leadership? Why or Why not?

Empathy is a very important component of leadership, and it is a skill which every leader should posses. Empathy is the skill of understanding the feelings and thoughts of others. In leadership positions, it is very important as it gives a leader an understanding of other people who work under him/her. If the leader understands the needs and the feelings of others then they are are better able to handle situations and communicate with them. Empathy makes the leader create bonds and good social relationships with their team or other people, this helps in good relations and avoiding conflict situations to arise. It also gives insight into the feelings and roles of others and what other people are going through. If a leader knows this, it gives him a good understanding of the weakness and strengths of others.
