Referring to specific details from "The Empathy Deficit" by Keith O'Brien, do you think it's fair to characterize young people today as empathy challenged? Why or why not? If so, what factors do you think contribute to this condition?
Based on the writings of Keith O'Brien and my own personal experiences; I think it's fair to characterize young people today as empathy challenged; as young kids in college are yet to learn from their experiences; the importance of empathy in life. Apart from this these kids are hooked on to screens all the time i.e. they are kids of the digital age. They don’t have time to communicate with people in society. Further media has made them desensitized as they are viewing violence every minute.
