The moral model of disability is one of the oldest models and is not used more today. There are some cultures that where disability would be associated with shame and sin. Also, disability would be associated with the guilt feeling , though the feelings would not be on the basis of why religious doctrines. This model would refer to the thought processes where it is said that w person would be responsible for their disabilities and this is because of the bad actions that a person would have carried out.

Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA)

This is a part of America. Legislation that would ensure that students having disabilities would be give. Free appropriate public education (FAPE). The goal of this act is that children should be having the same opportunity that the students without disabilities would be having.

When working with people having a moral model of disability, this model would be burdensome. Families feel the shame and feel ostracised s c being full of hatred. The people with IDEA work with families by identification of their strengths as well as limitations. The families and the patient and their specific requirements would be addressed so that there would be outcome achievement. These volunteers identify that in order to work with a patient, the needs of the family also have to be addressed such that there would be improvement of the functional abilities of the child, along with preparation of the social well being.
