What are the central differences between Descartes and Locke? Which do you find most reasonable or convincing?
There are significant differences between Descartes and Locke. Descartes is an idealist and believes in innate ideas whether Locke is a realist and doesn't believe in innate ideas. Descartes believes that knowledge comes from the mind but Locke says knowledge some from the experiences. Locke considered the body and mind both are separate elements but Descartes it far beyond than separate. Descartes is skeptical about sense hence he doesn't depend on sense but Locke says one should reflect on the idea. I find Descarte more reasonable and convincing.
