What is meant by naturalistic approach?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

In Naturalistic approach, a researcher would observe the participants in their natural settings.

For eg- If my research topic is effectiveness of sports on academic success, then i might go to the school, observe the kids while they are playing on the field or engaging in any sport activity and then assess it with their academic success.

There are certain biases that can occur in this approach suhc as biasness in observation by the researcher; as the researcher is also human he might miss out some important observation information; when the participants know that tehy are being observed then they might act differently.

So researcher should focus on all the pros and cons of any reserach emthod before going ahead.
