Naturalistic observation is a tool which is used for research study mostly by the psychologist in which observing the spontaneous matters happens in the environment. For example observing different people behaving in a restaurant while having their orders.

Case study method is something which is entirety different from naturalistic method, case study can be done in using different method like descriptive, exploratory, reretrospective method etc. Here understanding or observing the environment which comes under study and going an in depth investigation on it.

Comparison:

  • In naturalistic observation, researcher do not have any control over the environment under study. In case study, research has his own mechanism to draw the broader as he is working on an in depth investigation process by considering descriptive statistics.
