Differences

Content literacy is acquiring abilities as reading skill, comprehending skills or writing skills in a particular subject matter to obtain knowledge in that specific subject matter or content. It is the ability to gain knowledge in the specific content or discipline.

Disciplinary literacy goes beyond gaining knowledge in a specific discipline or content, it is acquiring the ability of applying the gained knowledge. It is the ability to critic, analyse and to have one's own stance with regard to the content or the discipline.
