coonsider the 4 ways ti shape behavior ( positive reinforcement, negative reinforcement, punishment and extintion)describe some situations that are more or less suited for each of the approaches to shaping behavior

Homework Answers

Answer #1

The pictures have the definition and the text mentions some situations.

Extinction- it is observed and defined in this process that if the reinforcement is omitted the behavior or the response intensity refuces and slowly it becomes absent. This happens the person has nothing of his interest anymore and tends to think it is better to return to the older response so as to get the reinforcement again for returning to the new learned pattern of behavior .

Some basic situtions using these approaches to shape behavior are the childs school and home life of learning new things, various works done by an employee in the organisation, the laws and the punishments when they are not followed. As all these use punishments and reinforcements as well as extinction at some point or other to make one learn certain behaviors and unlearn others.
