2. Describe some ways that you personally use information technologies differently than you did just a few years ago

The description of some ways that personally use information technology differently:

Here are some ways that personally use information technology-

  • The users to Collaborative Education- Today's significantly improved communication process and resources, and more importantly, address the gap of "human interaction" that has long been a critique of online education. Technologies are no longer a threat to social contact. It is, instead, an accomplice that provides students with a humanized, teaching moment — especially online.
  • Passive and Effective or Brain-based Research- This move from passive to the learning process, and from a teacher-centered to either a student-centered method, is perhaps the most beneficial effect of technologies. Technologies then become an active learning device. It enables learners to study, interact, and resolve issues.
  • The Emergence of Differentiated Instructions- It allows teachers to fulfill the interests of specific learners. It offers students a variety of means to acquire information; to process, create, or make sense of concepts.
  • The Multitasking Phenomenon- Multitasking with technology is perceived to be "simple," particularly among younger individuals who also are likely to have engaged in academic research. However, it has been shown that, under most circumstances, the brain could not perform two complicated tasks simultaneously. It could only happen if the two activities are both really simple and if they do not compete against each other for similar mental resources.

3. Some organizations purposefully select a CIO that has strong business management backgrounds, not just technical experience. Under what organizational circumstances do you think this might be an effective choice?

The description of the organizational circumstances that might be an effective choice:

A CIO with a valid business management experience could be a better option for companies where IT is starting to be used for strategic advantage and the market is evolving rapidly.

  • Strategic framework- The creation of an overall framework and system for the IT organization requires to be centralized and so there is a coherent understanding and strategic objectives.
  • Consistency- Employees will be able to switch between several company locations and also be able to work within a technology environment without needing to be trained up to or experience a feeling of having and also have-nots.
  • Coherence- Networks, and systems need to incorporate and communicate with the end-user with such a minimum of interruption and irritation. End-users do not have to consider the system design.
  • Elimination and consolidation of the redundancy-Duplication add complexity to the system. Where appropriate, lean management concepts propose the reduction of redundancy and duplication to minimize costs, as the users seek to achieve greater stability and recovery from disasters.
  • Specifications and controls for audit- Areas vulnerable to external audit need the highest controls, and centralized IT requires systems and operational expertise to adjust to the audit.
  • Separation of responsibility- No one would be able to commit a security breach or a robbery of money with this activity going ignored. The auditors are asking the organizations to respond to the segregation of duties specifications.

4. Describe a new business for which you think a "virtual organization"—which has no physical office or headquarters—could be an effective design. What are some ways that the organization could use IT to help them effectively run their business?

The description of the new business for a "virtual organization" which has no headquarters that could be effective design:

Online dating application or service is the virtual organization that has no need for offices and headquarters and it provides a variety of best ways to understand a possible date in detail before the meeting. This computer-mediated link or communication provides secure and easy contact without too much danger or time commitment.

The description of some ways that an organization can use IT to help them successfully run their business:

Here are some ways that an organization can use to help online dating services successfully that can run their business:

  • Protect program with encryption- The protection or security of the dating app will start with the protection of the code. The easiest way to secure the code is to use traditional algorithms along with API protection.
  • Test code for the vulnerabilities- Check the source code and test vulnerability checks continuously to detect any hazards as early as possible.
  • Protect network connection- All servers that control the APIs of the dating app will have security steps to secure data and prevent confidential information from being interfered upon.
  • Photo verification- Photo verification is a quite great feature to verify if an individual is who they prove to be.
  • Risk score- Creating a risk score is a perfect way to improve the app's reputation. Modern AI techniques enable users to submit an ID check when logging in to online dating and then get a risk rating based on this info.

5. Four categories of computer systems were considered in this chapter: microcomputers, midrange systems, mainframes, and supercomputers. Provide the name of at least one prominent vendor in each of these categories (and you can use IBM only once!)

The description of the vendor name for each category of the computer system:

Microcomputer- Siemens process industry and drive, Command Alkon, and System Equipment corporation are the companies or vendors of the Microcomputer.

Midrange systems- There are two vendors of the Midrange system such as IBM, Hewlett-Packard, and Oracle.

Mainframes- Unisys Manufacturers or corporations are the vendors of the Mainframes because Unisys Corporation or manufacturer is an American multinational information technology corporation headquartered in Pennsylvania, Blue Bell, which offers IT, software, and development services.

Supercomputers- IBM is the vendor of the Supercomputer because IBM Power systems offer ultra-size supercomputer output will save on storage space, storage, and cooling costs.
