Do you feel that juvenile delinquency can effectively be curbed by the threat of corporal punishment? Why or why not?
Threat of Corporal punishment is not a way to curb juvenile delinquency. Corporal punishment makes them more aggressive. It reinforces the violent behavior in them, they may take to violence for every small matters that they don't agree to because they have learned this way. Also, they may suppress their delinquent behavior for some time for the threat of corporal punishment. But when they get chance, they may more be violent than before. Instead of corporal punishment to curb juvenile delinquency, the reason for delinquent behavior should be found out and should be intervened with appropriate intervention method.
