Babbling Stage: The first year for the child's language
development happens in the form of babbling.These words may often
not have meaning. The child uses sounds such as dada, mama, baba,
etc.
One word stage: The child uses one word to communicate at this
stage. This stage starts at about 10-12 months of age. The child
would say bata to say water, or say yes and no as a whole
sentence.
Two word stage: At about 1 and half years of age, the child
starts to use two words to make up a sentence. A verb and noun
combination is used to form a sentence such as "i hungry" or "chair
break" etc.
Three or more word: at about 2 and a half years of age, they
start to use 3 or more words to form a sentence. The sentences,
however could have grammatical mistakes such as "he go yesterday"
or " the computer not work".
Complex sentences: At about 3 years of age, sentences with
proper grammar are used. Such "i cant do that" or "this is not
fair".
Adult language: At about 6 years of age, children to use adult
like language with very complex sentence structure and also learn
to change the word of words to form same sentences. Examples. "do
you realise that wasn't ant space for more" or " how will you
manage so much excess work"
