Analyze the TEACH act. Why was it considered an important piece of legislation? What are the two institutional requirements for its applicability?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

TEACH Act or Technology Education and Copyright Harmonization Act enables teachers to use the copyright protected materials in distance education with certain restrictions. It’s applicable to government institute or accredited non-profit educational institutions. One of the most important requirements is that the institutions should provide information amterials regarding copyright and promote the government laws regarding compliance to the copyright materials. Secondly, these materials should be given to those students officially enrolled in the course for which the material is used. This would mean it cannot be used for other students or people who are not enrolled for that particular course.
