How does collaboration affect student performance? Support your response.
When collaboration takes place in classrooms, students have an opportunity to learn much from the unique knowledge and skills of their peers. Furthermore, when teachers collaborate with students, there is an increase in instructional creativity and innovation (Sawyer, 2007). A lack of collaborative learning in the classroom may seriously and negatively impact student performance and learning in groups because students may aim only to achieve individual academiclearning and neglect the importance of social interaction during collaboration.
