With whom do you share more intense emotional bonds: family members, friends, lovers, or coworkers? Do you always feel positively toward your family, or do some members consistently trigger negative emotions in you? What does this tell you about the intensity and complexity of emotional bonds in family relationships?
I share the strongest and most intense emotional bonds with members of my family. Although my relationship with them is far from perfect, I feel like I can rely on them for anything at the end of the day. It is true though that some of my family members tend to constantly trigger negative emotions in me and this has worsened over the years. Still, I believe that these stem from personality-related differences rather than any malicious intent. It is held that one can choose their friends but not their family members, and so, no matter how ambivalent the relationship between the members become, the family still perpetuates.
