How did Galton support his argument that eugenics should be practiced? What do you feel where Galton's major contributions to psychology?
Based on the study of upper class of Britain Galton argued that the human race could help direct it's future by "selectively breeding" individuals who have "desired traits". Galton believed that the persons with good traits were less successful in passing on their traits than the people with mediocre traits,so he argued that if selective breeding is possible with animals then why can't be this made possible with human race for a better future. The meaning of eugenics is "well born".
Galtons study proved that intelligence and other traits of human personality were more hereditary. Thus,Galton was a scientist who introduced the concept of evolution into the study of human behavior.Still today most of the intelligence tests traces it's root back to Galton and his concept of individual differences and hereditary. Thus,Galton contributed to psychology.
