If you witnessed a broadside collision, would you expect that the velocities and weights of the cars determine where the cars will land after the collision? Why or why not? Provide an example of a safety measure that can be used to decrease the impact of these collisions?

No , We Cannot determined because in momentum equation we have at least one unknown either velocity or mass if both are unknown then we cannot find both of them because in this type of conditions or problem we have two ,equation 1st is momentum conservation and second one is energy conservation and in both equation both of them are required if anyone are unknown then we can find left unknown by equation of coefficient restitution.

For for providing an example we have to first understand that what is impact?

Impact is simply change in momentum with respect to time.

So if we want to reduce the impact then we have to reduce the impact of time.

or reduce the change in momentum.

and momentum should be chnage by less mass or less velocity.
