1. For making the cheese, the lactic acid producing anaerobic bacteria are added to milk, which consume the lactose sugar of milk and produce lactic acid. this acid is secreted in to the surrounding Medium causing acidic environment. this acidic environment causes the precipitation of milk protein casein leading to formation of cheese.
2. The drug statin are structurally similar to the basic substrate HMG-CoA of HMG-CoA reductase. hence due to similarity of the structure the drug statin binds with the active site of the enzyme and thus, it will block the active site and actual substrate could not bind with the site.
thus the drug statins acts as competitive inhibitor that slow down the action of enzyme leading to reduced formation of cholesterol.
