Answer #1

Using a voltometer

voltometer has infinite or very large resistance therefore we must connevt it parallel to the component across which we need to measure potential difference

Using Ammeter

Ammeter has zero or negligible resistance so it must be connected in series to the component across which you need to measure the current passing.

Battery on fire implies the terminal are short circuited

When the terminal are connected via a conductor the simultion shows battery on fire

This happens because the terminals initially hold a potential difference but hen a conduvtor is connected the PD drops and the energy that was initially stored as potential difference becomes heat and causes fire

I just did a lab and I can't figure out why the voltage behaves this way. Circuit one: A 1.5 volt battery and a voltmeter V= 1.319V Circuit two: Same as circuit one but there is a bulb parallel with the voltmeter and the voltage drops to 1.156V. Shouldn't the voltage be the same because they are in parallel and how can you use theory or otherwise to explain this? Is it due to resistance decreasing because the bulb abd...
