Polystyrene is a type of polymer which belongs to plastic family. GPPS is a type of commercial garde polystyrene which is hard in nature. The full form of GPPS is general purpose polystyrene which is solid and highly transparent and it's cost is very inexpensive.

HIPS is the second type of commercial grade available it contains very low content of butadiene as HIPS full form is highly impact poly styrene as the name denotes which has high impact resistance. In the HIPS the monomer are bonded covalently with the main chain usually called as main polymer.

Third type of polystyrene is EPS which is expanded polystyrene which is highly insulated and having High thermal conductivity.

Application of styrene

Styrene has huge application in electrical, food storage, plastic material like trays, disposal caps, etc.
