The organization will have its structure designed in such a way that the operating procedures follow a certain hierarchy of execution. When there is hierarchy of operations in place, not all departments will get equal power and authority. In any organization, when power and authority are equalized among departments, conflicts will rise and give way to unrest and disturbance among the employees.

The decision making responsibility will have to be with the top management so that they are able to resolve conflicts and maintain the perfect organization climate. When all the departments are given equal power they will try to impose their decision on others and this will ultimately result in conflicts. Therefore, reporting structure and hierarchy of operations, wherein the subunits are designated with the required amount of power, is definitely important in an organization.
