Homework Answers

Answer #1

The 3 pillars mentioned by Eric Dishman are-

1. Care anywhere

2. Care networking

3. Care customization

Care anywhere means the infusion of mobile devices and communications technologies that let doctors and patients stay on track beyond wires and organizational walls.

Care networking refers to the shift from solo-based practice to true team-based care. The future of healthcare is based in smart teams instead of an individual who provide healthcare service.

Care customization defines the development of a care plan for the individual’s needs and personal wishes and unique genomic variations.

This has a large impact on how we, as patients, communicate about health. It matters because taking charge of your personal health care and working with others to help create that customized plan and shared goals, can help to cure illness in a way that has not happened before. By taking approach of these three pillars of care, can change the way patients and doctors interact. Creating conversation that is more open for discussion helps to turn the patient into an individual rather than a statistic. It is an innovative approach to health care while considering both patients and the health care providers. That’s why I believe this.

Ergonomic injuries are prevalent in the healthcare industry due to the nature of the work required as illustrated in our lesson with Mr. Bach, a certified nurse assistant who injured his back while attempting to assist a resident from the floor to the bed. In recent years, many facilities have implemented policies, purchased equipment, and provided training to address ergonomic injuries. However, WMSDs, specifically back injuries, are still pretty commonplace within the industry. Using the example of Mr. Bach from...
