For measuring EV, first the total value of the complete training program will have to be calculated.

The development of a training program is deconstructed into small activities and a work break down structure is made which is composed of task level details

For each of the task in the work break down strucuture, effort/value is estimated.

The addition of all the efforts/values in the work break down strucuture will give the total value at completion

Now, earned value can be calculated as the total value of completed tasks
