culture vs. strategy... explain the affects
Culture vs. strategy is a long debate, where in my view, we cannot ascertain in any way that one trumps the other. Good corporate cultures are made so by design, and not just by default. To create a healthy culture, it has to be made the focus point for the corporate strategy (mission, vision and values). If the corporate strategy ignores development of a positive corporate culture, it experience toxic work environment in most cases. So, for good culture to be sustainable within the company, it has to be incorporated as the prime focus within the company’s core business strategy.
A motivated employee culture with ping pong tables and relaxed environment cannot suffice for weak business models. Thus, to ensure an innovative healthy, vibrant and inspiring corporate culture, it cannot be placed ahead of strategy, but it has to be a key driver for the corporate strategy.
