Food industry is facing major changes now a days. Different trends are coming, consumer demand and preceptions are changing and so the food industries are changing their way. People are no more going for taste they have also become health conscious. Like this there are several changes and developments going in this industry. We will discuss them in detail.

1. Diverse demand - Now a days people do not restrict themselves to the products that they always use. People are becoming diverse and try different food products, new flavours, cross cultural food. People are exploring now a days. That is why food industry is expanding since products are globally recognized and products are being produced at a very large level with new flavours.

2. Revolution of snacks - As world is moving fast, people are living active lifestyle. Now a days husband and wife work in family. So they want easy made snacks which are coocked fast. Examples are fries, easy made noodles etc. Therefore various snack foods are in trend and various new companies are coming with different and unique ideas.

3. Healthy products - We dicussed above that people are becoming health concious. They prefer products made from natural ingredients. Therefore so many manufacturers are claming to provide healthy products like oilfree, made up of olive oil, baked fries etc. Also we saw that Nestle has launched wheat noodles. Therefore these kind of trends are common now.

4. Environment friendly packaging - Various industries under CSR activities are following environment friendly ways to get goodwill as well as government support. Products are now coming in environment friendly packages which are degradable and decomposed. Use of plastics bags has been banned in some countries. So manufacturers are coming with unique and healthy packaging ideas.

5. Focus on veggies - Trend for meat will never go but now people in USA are adopting veg products because of health and animal welfare perspective. Therefore there is a small decline in meat products. Industries there are focusing on products which contains vegetables with small amount of meat.

6. Trend for home made food - Due to adopting healthylifestyle, people want to consume home made food. That is why several enterprise are investing in small industries which offer home made products like home made chocolates, pickle, cakes and christmas dinner etc.
