It might be unsatisfactory to leave allocation of tasks to individuals entirely to the discretion of team leader because in that scenario, the team leader might get biased and allocate easier tasks to his/her favourite team members and allocate difficult tasks to other team members without considering the skill sets and experience required for conducting the tasks. Also the team leader might conduct error while allocating if he/she is not aware of the strengths and weaknesses of the individuals. Hence it is recommended to do this activity in consultation with any other senior resource in the team who can provide his opinion about different team members and help in task allocation based on strengths and weaknesses of the individuals.
