CMGT/442 Information Systems Risk Management
In my opinion the best way to eliminate human risk is giving proper training, encouraging a friendly work environment and putting proper monitoring in place. The employees should be given clear instructions on what they are expected to follow in the work place and what they should not. Each and every space in the work location should be equipped with monitoring devices to capture the employee activities. The employees should be known that every activities are monitored and also about the consequences of not following the rules and illegal practices like theft and other kinds of fraud in the work place. Most of the human risks that may arise out of fraudulent activities and out of drug and alcohol usage can be eliminated through monitoring and counseling. The security measures should be tightened and the employees should be given warning while using equipments that may impose risk to the human. Poor communication among the employees also may impose human risk and the management should ensure a friendly environment where the employees can interact with each other and develop better relationship which would help to reduce workplace conflicts and the related injuries. The leaders should be flexible and there should be open communication between the leaders and the employees because employees would inform the leadership whenever they find anything unusual among themselves and it would help to identify the possibilities of any kinds of human risks. The management can develop plans to mitigate the risk before they go out of control.
